Whole Foods has been our family's favorite store for quite a while now. They are renowned for specializing in organic food products and providing healthy food choices. Since they opened the first store in 1980, they have been coming up with different ideas on helping people and the planet. I will be speaking about Whole Food’s initiative called the Green Mission. One of the most basic things they are famous for is being an Organic store. They were among the first ones who commercialized the Organic food industry and they have become the market leader. They make sure that the food products they sell contain no toxins, artificial synthetics, GMO, and any other prohibited items in their products. They make sure that they work with vendors who are USDA Organic compliant. One of the other initiatives is Reuse and Recycle program. They have various points listed in this program. Some of the notable ones are Flushless urinals and low-flow toilets, Composting to decrease landfill waste, Company and community recycling drives for electronics, Recycling cardboard, paperboard, paper, glass, plastic and metal, Recycling cardboard, paperboard, paper, glass, plastic and metal, etc are some of the programs. …show more content…

They have started building rooftop solar panels on top of their stores to supplement the regular power supply. They have installed electric charging stations at their stores. They are redesigning their stores into Green building which would be environmentally sustainable stores. They have started offering bulk purchasing which reduced packaging and shipping weight.
