Who’s To blame for the sinking of the RMS Titanic
On, April 14, 1912 at 11:40 pm the Titanic hit an iceberg. The “Unsinkable” ocean liner was at the bottom the Atlantic nearly three hours later. One of the most tragic events in history the sinking of RMS Titanic couldn't pass by without fingers being pointed. But how would be to blame for the sinking of the ship. It was known as the ship of dreams before it set out on its maiden voyage. Most people think first to blame the look outs or John Andrews, the ships builder or Bruce Ismay, the president of the white star line. Their are immense number of reasons to blame them but Captain Smith has his share to answer for too. The ship was going full speed in attempt to arrive in New York a night early even after receiving several warnings of icebergs ahead. They simply thought that it would be close to nearly impossible to sink the huge vessel. All captains should have confidence in themselves and the ship but too much confidence would be considered arrogant. But in fact Captain Smith was overconfident in the ship and didn’t believe a simple iceberg could cause it to sink. He allowed himself to be laid back and relaxed while on Titanic. For at the time it was the most luxurious ship and considered unsinkable by most so laying back on the duties as a captain would be ok right? No had in fact received and seen several of the iceberg warnings and blew them off without a thought of worry. As the Titanic continued along head forward full speed into to the iceberg patch.
