Bob Marley was born in Northern Jamaica in St. Ann. Bob grew up in a broken home and in poverty. Many people in his town lived in shacks made out of cardboard, plywood and rusty old iron near ditches and open sewers. Living in these conditions a person could grow up in many different ways. One could be angry, bitter or many other negative things. Bob marley however, took his past and his knowledge of things, and grew. He had opinions that he made very obvious in many of his songs about peace, injustice, and the oppressed. This paper will touch on how he tried to spread peace and hope.
