In William Shakespeares play "Romeo and Juliet" Romeo and Juliet get married the day after they meet. The reason for this marriage is not love. Instead, Romeo wants to marry Juliet because she is beautiful. Juliet wants to marry Romeo because she does not want to marry Paris. Unfortunately, this marriage is driven by ulterior motives. The following paragraphs will demonstrate that Romeo and Juliet want to get married for very different reasons, as evidenced by their fantasies of escapism.
