A. Tessie Hutchinson’s husband drew the winning ticket, so every member of his family had to draw again to deciding the winner of the lottery. Tessie protested when her husband drew the first dot.
1. Tessie Hutchinson faces internal conflict with herself because she would have taken part in the killing of someone else had another person won the lottery. According to the tradition, every member in Bill Hutchinson’s family must draw again, therefore she know that she was going to lose one of her loved ones. Tessie shouts that the drawing was unfair, because she felt Bill did not receive enough time to draw. She
