Have you ever wondered why Texans fought in the Civil War? The Civil War was fought when the Texans seceded from the U.S and joined the Confederate states. So the real question is, why did the Texans fight in the Civil War? They fought in the war to protect/preserve slavery, the love for Texas, and to protect states rights.

Mexico refused to to give land to the U.S. The big question is whether the U.S. was justified in fighting Mexico in the Mexican-American War. The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because Manifest Destiny, too much Mexican interference, and Texas was invaded. The Mexican had expanded their land towards Texas and the Americans did the same. The Alamo was already part of Mexico. The people in Texas wanted to separate due to the Mexicans laws, religion, and politics and did not want to pay taxes to the Mexicans homeland. A lot of the Texan citizen were American immigrants who were accustomed to the laws and freedoms of the United States. They did not respect the culture and beliefs of Mexico.

Soon enough, Texas wanted to become its own state. This would lead to various revolutions and battles, including the Texas Revolution. At the Alamo and Goliad alike, Texans and Mexicans were both killed. No matter how many people died, it wouldn’t be enough until America got what it wanted. Eventually, Texas became its own state but was left impoverished.
This action made the other Americans want Texas to be a part of America because they were loyal to the same country. The idea of nationalism was planted in the Americans at this time, but the Mexican War made it grow. When America defeated Mexico, the Americans saw themselves as the best because
