Nolan Conney World History 3­6­15 Question #1 The Quasi War was a naval war fought between the United States and France. The cause of this war was the feud between treaties and also the status of neutral for the United States. During the battle the United States were the real winners. Throughout the fight the United States only lost one ship and captured many French ships. The main reason of the Quasi War was the Jay Treaty. The French did not like it because they felt like it was a violation of the 1778 Treaty of Alliance. The French started to dislike the United States more and more because of this. Another reason why the Quasi War started was because of the French thought the United States was going on Britain’s side. The result of the French Revolution was the decline of the theocracies and also absolute monarchies. Instead of having theocracies and absolute monarchies they had republics and democracies. The cause of the French Revolution was said to be because of the French government's extreme debt they attempted a insane taxon the third estate. The third estate revolted and this caused the ideas of liberalism and nationalism in Europe. Another thing that was caused by the French Revolution was the attack of the Bastille. The third estate was determined to stop the unfair taxing of the lower class. They saw this as unfair because the third estate was known as the poorest of the estates. In their minds they should of taxed the upper class which had more money and could survive if they had to pay extra
