How did the newly independent countries transform into a transcontinental nation? There are many events and reasons that led up to the newly independent thirteen colonies to a transcontinental nation. The newly declared independence to the United States was very beneficial and made them stronger both economically and by the government. The independence also unified them as a country and brought them together. There were also many economic improvements that helped the United States, such as the Wars and Treaties, and the Westward expansion, which added more than the original thirteen colonies to the United States.
