The Food Industry Driving Humans to the Worst Health Companies have recognized their power over the health of every human on Earth. They have figured out how to drive consumer demand, influence portions, and add unhealthy ingredients. This approach can negatively affect public health and increase profits for some food companies. Many foods offered by food companies are high in calories, fat, salt, and sugar, which can contribute to obesity, diabetes, and other health problems. Additionally, food companies may use harmful additives, preservatives, and chemicals to extend the shelf life of their products, enhance their flavor or texture, or save costs. Why do food companies have so much power to influence our health?
