No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will. Anyone could be a hero. However not everyone is a hero. Being a hero takes courage.
What is a Hero? What is a hero? Is it a person that saves the world, like a leader, or a person who is caring and generous enough to help out with someone who needs help, like mowing a lawn for someone who is hurt or sick? The answer is a person who is loyal, inspiring, and fearless, for example, Mal from Return of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz. A hero is not a person who does evil or who stands by and watches.
Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. Sadly, today’s society degrades the meaning of the word “hero”. Heroes are an important aspect of life, but famous people are not always heroes.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
Modern Day Hero The word “hero” often makes us think of the people in the stories we read, movies we watch, and the people making the headlines in the newspaper. While this may hold some truth, these heroes often make us forget about the ones in our daily lives. These people show great moral and character when facing danger or problems.
Everyone is a hero at some point in there life. A hero is kind and helps others with their actions and words. Pony, Dallas, and Johnny are heroes in the book The Outsiders. They all fit my definition of a hero and maybe add a little more meaning that fits their personality. All of us are a hero but only some of us show it.
Today’s heroes are people who have“ courageous soul who is no less afraid of death but more focused on saving lives than taking them..”. Defining Today’s Heroes A question that causes much disagreement today is whether the word hero has some backing, and it does. Examples are shown for why the word hero, and its definition, has acknowledgement today. These examples include people who are labeled as a hero by their actions and others.
How is a hero described? Most people describe a hero as someone or something that is always doing good and helping others without being forced. Hero’s are not always benefiting from helping others but are happy to know they are doing good. A hero is not someone who is selfish and will not sacrifice everything for the good of others. Malala is a real life hero that is powerful and stands up for what she believes in, even though she knows there will be harsh consequences.

There are various approaches to describing a hero. There is also an infinite number of individuals who can be defined as heroes. A hero can be a person who demonstrates valor. A hero can be a champion. A hero can even save a life or even mankind.
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live. In all honesty, a hero isn’t really what we think a “hero” is based on definitions and what the movies or even comic books have told us. Anyone can be
