Many people believe global warming is occurring and its effects are real, however there still are doubters. The largest groups of people who debate over the idea of global warming are the Republicans and Democrats. I will be comparing two different broadcast networks, Fox News and National Public Radio, and the different ways each addresses climate change. Fox tends to leave out important facts and information about the earth that people should be aware of. Instead of stating important factual information, Fox makes jokes about global warming activate. Fox reports lack the use of Pathos and Logos. Logos deals with statements that are logic based and pathos uses emotions to connect with the audience. However, when Fox news does use pathos or logos they leave out the meat and just give out bones. People who support Fox news tend to be more worried about their money and making profits instead of fixing the problem around us. Fox uses Sean Hannity to mimic all of the people who believe in global warming and says things such as,” And what they’re going to say from the story is most climate scientists respond to the ferocious storms that they’re consistent with forecasts that a heating planet will produce more frequent, more intense weather events. A partner of O’reilly , Greg Gutfled, states “ Me and O’Reilly were making snowmen outside we are so excited” (Lee). These are samples of how Fox lacks the use of logos and pathos. Fox does whatever it can to ruin the image of the president and his followers, by forgetting to report the important unbiased information to their viewers.
