On December 7, 1941, Japanese soldiers drop a bomb on the U.S Naval Base Pearl Harbor. Contemplating war for decades with the United States, Japan administers a surprise attack. Pearl Harbor displays a Naval Base near the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii, 4,000 miles from Japan. The horrifying attack, lasting only two hours, the destroys twenty naval vessels, eight battleships, and two hundred airplanes; the United States bounces back quick. Japan drops a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor to solve economic and demographic problems, to expand territory, and to repay the U.S for trade embargoes.
The first reason Japan drops the bomb on Pearl Harbor bestows the solving of economic and demographic problems. During WWII Japan’s economy will be demolished due to “millions of people dieing and around 40% of its capital stock gone” (Benjamin Powell). In hopes of restoring their economic problems Japan allies with Germany and Italy. During this time Japan gains a horrible attitude toward China because of their trade. In return of Japan’s attitude the United States aggressively takes over some of the Japanese imports keeping them from accessing money and good.
