In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch shows and gives courage to others when in need. First, Atticus shoots Tim Johnson, a dog with rabies, who is ready to charge and saves the town. Although Atticus had a high chance of missing and shooting at the Radley’s house, but he still shoots because he knows that if he misses or backs out, he could get killed along with other several people in town. Second, Atticus shows courage when he goes downtown to the county jail to guard Tom Robinson against the lynch mob. Atticus guards Tom Robinson against the lynch mob because he knows that it is wrong to kidnap people, this shown courage because Atticus is also risking his life trying to protect Tom Robinson. Third, when Jem questions
