Can you believe that something before the time of Jesus could still thrive today? After the great Buddha died, missionaries traveled by foot and came to China. They built beautiful structures called Pagodas, or Chinese Buddhist temples. The pagodas symbolize the beliefs in the Buddhist religion and these types of temples still exist today. ("Buddhanet.net."). Chinese Buddhist temples or Pagodas have a very different appearance compared to temples in India. These temples are made of three different groups of structures. They usually face towards the south. Many special statues are found inside temples. Some examples are The Four Heavenly Kings, Wei-to (guard for Buddhist books and the kings), and also the Laughing Buddha. The Chinese Buddhist temples are a holy place where the Buddhist Doctrine is kept. The doctrine is a scripture that contains the beliefs of the Buddhist Church. (travelchinaguide.com) In modern day China, most of the people are Buddhist. A new religion developed over time. It is called Mayhana Buddhism. This version is a mix of Buddhism and a religion made in Kush called Yuezhi. There are three Buddhist languages in China: Pali Language Buddhism, Tibetan Language Buddhism, and Chinese Language Buddhism. (chinahighlights.com) and (chinatoday.com)
Chinese Buddhist temples are beautiful symbolic structures. The religion Buddhism thrives greatly in China today. Even though the Great Buddha died, his works have been spread through India, China, Japan, and many other countries. Chinese Buddhist temples have much history behind it. Architecture, beauty, and significance are traits that make up a Chinese Buddhist temple. People should seek the belief, seek the symbolism, seek the spiritual people found in great myths back then, and seek the Chinese Buddhist
