Why I Became A Business Academy

My heart beat starts to accelerate, hands start to tremble, eyes start to water, voices start to intrude my mind, pounding down hard on me. As I slowly walk across the room, I tremble and wonder: what am I going to say? How will I properly present myself to fully express what I want to say? Public speaking was never my specialty as I experienced my first encounter in high school. Upon entering high school, I did not participate as much because I did not want to attract attention to myself. Yes, I participated in the courses embedded into my schedule, but were the skills that I was learning benefitting me in the long run? Perhaps, but, I was a little bit skeptical when I took my first business course, Business Essentials, because of what the previous students had to say. However, I was incorrect. The business academy challenged me in order to help me become the person I am today. By assigning homework and many presentations, I was able to improve my public speaking skills, while gaining the confidence needed to flourish academically and in life. A sense of security started to arouse in my soul as I eventually started to interact more with those around me. However, because of the business academy my work ethic has improved drastically. I became confident with myself and I started to provide assistance to my peers. In addition, I started to participate in volunteer work and integrate myself within other programs and clubs. Because of the business academy, I was more than prepared when I got my first job. When I received an opportunity to be interviewed, I was gratified that I had previously learned the majority of the skills required to obtain the job. Not only has this academy challenged me to think outside of the box, but it made me realize how important it is to be aware of what is going on around
