This is the beginning of what will be an exciting and prosperous future in the legal field in which you have chosen to play an important role. Fortunately for you, paralegals are in high demand, as they are imperative to the success of attorneys. It is also important to remember that paralegals are also vital to society, as they fill an important need for affordable legal services. It is in this noble pursuit that paralegals are the unsung heroes of the legal world. When I first decided to attend Bergen Community College I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life. I had been working at various jobs for a couple of years and decided I needed to go to college and get started on an actual career. taught me a great deal about what it actually takes to be a paralegal. I learned that one must have a great deal of patience and understanding to be a paralegal as your clients and even those you work with will be difficult at times. One must always remain calm and act in a professional manner despite the difficulties because how one conducts himself/herself means everything in this business. Along with acting professional, one must also dress professionally as a paralegal because presentation says everything about oneself. The way one dresses may be the determining factor in whether or not one gets the job over another candidate. Another important lesson I learned in the program was time management. No matter where one ends up being a paralegal, everyone is always busy, but work needs to get done. This requires paralegals to manage their time wisely as they are usually working within a time limit and thus must optimize the time they have in order to be
