Intro Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., made a profound statement, which can be used to understand school social work or just social work in general, “Never, never, be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”(Mintz, 2014) The field of social work I would like to pursue is school social work. School social work is an underpopulated field with a variety of strengths as well as challenges. But over all contribute to the wellbeing of all children.
