I am a recent graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University, and was awarded with an upper second class degree in history. Through the skills I have obtained throughout my time at work, university, and during my volunteering roles, I believe I would be a suitable candidate for the position of team administrator at Family Mosaic.
Firstly, my work at Taxfile as an accounts and administration assistant has given me the skill to be competent at an intermediate level in the use of Microsoft office. I developed several Excel spreadsheet macros, used for reducing entry time of data and automatically cross-referencing. I would be accountable for contacting HMRC to track any tax refunds a client was entitled to, to investigate employment records and other queries and difficulties of the client. Another of my duties at Taxfile was to monitor tax investigations, this involved keeping track of the investigation and logging any new developments. The aim was to reach a conclusion both the client and HMRC were mutually assured with. These experiences in customer service have contributed to my professional attitude and personable manner. I forged strong relationships with all of my former colleagues at Taxfile, which resulted in a real sense of cooperation. During the month of January, work required long and unsocial hours in order to meet the deadline of self-assessment tax returns. It was necessary for me to be a team player and collaborate with colleagues to form a team ethos, to achieve the business’ targets. In January 2016 the company saw an increase of self-assessments submitted, as a result of better team work and organisational planning.
Finally, during my time at Taxfile I took it upon myself to improve my personal learning and development. I studied the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification in my spare time, and am currently on Level 3. This demonstrates self-motivation, the desire to strive for better and taking responsibility for broadening my horizons. I consider that having this added qualification provided me with the ability to manage my performance which improved the delivery of results for Taxfile, particularly on annual company returns and bookkeeping for
