Hello,
I am Sofia Kaunonen and I would like to apply to be a para during the summer school session at the middle school. I would like to be able to use my teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills in a position that offers exposure to working with students but the teachers as well. I have gotten the honor to tutor students in three ways. I am an Avid Tutor for middle school students. Avid tutors work with all core subjects and offer a new approach to helping students answer their questions. Which could be very helpful in assisting the students. I am an English student teacher/ tutor at the high school. I was able to work with a freshman English class to work on speaking, writing, and reading. Finally, I am a personal tutor. Which means I have worked one on one with students on their organizational skills as well as homework in core subjects. I am a very determined and dedicated person. My senior year I was in almost all college classes and maintained a 4. 1 GPA. I also participated in 12 activities. Taking leadership roles in many of them. I was a tutor during high school. However, now that I am graduating. I would love to get the honor of helping students during the summer learn and enjoy learning as well. I would love to get the opportunity to assist the summer school program. I have enjoyed tutoring and working with other students. I believe I could add a lot to this program as well as learn a lot. I hope to get the honor of working with this program.
