The career i have chosen to do my college research paper over is the United States Marine Corps (USMC), I plan on joining right out of high school. The United States Marine Corps is a department of the Navy. The marine corps are known as an elite amphibious and expeditionary warfare fighting force. I have chosen this career because I want to serve this great country with some of the most elite group of men and women in this world. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision. The work environment of the USMC is really just depending on what you are doing in the marine core. Some people maybe be working in a office, some will be living in barracks, and some will be at home if they are in the reserves. Serving on land and at sea, these first Marines distinguished themselves in a number of important operations, including their first amphibious raid into the Bahamas in 1776, under the command of Captain (later Major) Samuel Nicholas, Nicholas, the first commissioned officer in the Continental Marines, remained the senior Marine officer until the end of the American Revolution and is considered to be the first Marine Commandant (A Brief History of the Marine Corps).
