As an international student from Nepal, I have continuously represented my country through various extra-curricular activities. As Vice President of the International Student Organization at Caldwell, I helped raise multi-cultural awareness on campus through numerous cultural events. Under my leadership, Holi: Festival of Colors won the Event of the Year award. In 2015, I was a key organizer of Caldwell University Prays for Nepal campaign that raised more than $18,000 in donations to help the victims of a disastrous earthquake in Nepal. Through these experiences, I have become increasingly aware of my ability to make a positive difference in my community, and have resolved to continue on this path of service. The fellowship will provide me a platform to further represent my country, perform community development activities, and contribute to the diversity of the graduate experience. Furthermore, the program’s unparalleled opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations strongly appeals to me given my research interests that lie at the intersection of finance with other disciplines such as psychology and computer science. Ultimately, I believe the CGF program will provide me the network, security, and support necessary to thrive during my doctoral studies and achieve my goal of becoming a professor at a top business
