Throughout my whole life, I have been a dedicated student. My greatest dream has always been to expand my knowledge and experiences beyond the limits of my surroundings. I am a young man from a Ukrainian low-middle class family. Ukraine is a poor country in Europe where it is really hard to get good education and obtain good careers. That is the reason why me and my family moved to United States. I was only 14 at that stage. I left all my friends, relatives, school – everything I’ve had, and went to find better ways of living. Having no opportunity in my home country of Ukraine, now I finally got a chance to show that this is possible. It often seems that people over there are generally not very open to new ideas or different ways of doing things. I wish to be different and prove to myself I can do this and maybe inspire others to do the same. Since my freshman year at Dominican University, I knew I wanted to do something memorable during my university experience. I have always been an active student and a passion worker. I’m majoring in business administration with concentration if finances. I currently work as at Mariano’s supermarket as a customer service representative. I help people with all the complex ideas about my store and also assist them with any needs that they have. I also manage all front-end employees by providing them my personal knowledge, but learning from them as well. I’ve learned how to become good at something I had to learn how to become. I feel like I never had managing skills until I actually started to manage people after I got promoted. Developing all these skills made me aware and believe that I really can go further and succeed in the future. Achieving academic, professional and personal goals is more than a hobby, is a lifestyle. I still feel the need to improve myself constantly. As a future financial analytic, it is important to know that in business world, there is never a space to settle for less, always do what encourages you to be better at life. The same goes for my abroad program, since I plan to get the most of
