Abigail Williams Destined for Hell "The truth doesn't cost anything, but a lie could cost you anything." This quote by an unknown author perfectly sums up the way Abigail Williams acted and treated people. During the Salem witch trials Abigail Williams was no typical Puritan women. She was seventeen years old and did whatever she wanted. She would never think about the life of others. She only cared about herself. She would blame someone for her actions just so she would not get into trouble. With her acting skills, Abigail could control the thought process of other and make them believe that everything she said was true. Abigail Williams is selfish, manipulative, and a magnificent liar. Abigail William is the most selfish girl in Salem. When she was about to get busted for getting involved in witchcraft she blamed Tituba and several other citizens in Salem. She was the one that persuaded Tituba to cast spells. Abigail made Tituba put a curse of Elizabeth Proctor, because Abigail had a brief affair with John Proctor. Abby was selfish enough to try to get Elizabeth killed so she could have John to herself. Although after everything that happened during the trials, she took all of her uncle's money and left town for good. In the quote "The truth doesn't cost anything, but a lie can cost you everything," Abigail's lies costed her the lives of many people. If she would have just owned up to the things she did, she could have saved so many life's. It's crazy to think that if Abby owned up to everything that she did and did not blame others for her actions, the Salem witch trials would not be as bad as everyone remembers it as. All in all, Abigail Williams is no perfect Puritan and she is mostly the cause of the Salem witch
