Bob Marley was born Robert Nesta Marley on February 6, 1945 in Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica. Born to humble beginnings in a racy union between a teenaged black mother and a white upper-classed white man. He grew up most of his childhood in the country side of Nine Miles with his mother’s family. Bob Marley would grow into the first international superstar born in the Third World. Marley was committed to fight injustice everywhere. Bob Marley used his lyrics and newly discovered reggae sound to captivate a global audience.
