The dictionary defines a criminal as “A person who has committed a crime.” This definition is very generic, until one couple redefined the meaning. Bonnie and Clyde's romantic crime spree showed how the public subconsciously wanted to humanize criminals. The couples impact on Americans was seen through how they were raised, the popularity of their relationships, and the nature of their crimes. It's said that a person's actions describe who they are, but Bonnie and Clyde defined themselves.

He was born into a poor family on a farm south of Dallas, Texas. His criminal career sparked when he was very young, with the help of his brother, Ivan “Buck” Barrow. They helped each other carry out numerous burglaries, armed robberies, and other crimes. He was sentenced to two years in prison. During this time Bonnie didn't leave him, and actually wrote to him everyday. The couples real crime spree began after Clyde was released from prison, and they stole a car ( Robinson 2). After being arrested for this,Bonnie was in jail and Clyde wasn't. Naturally, Clyde returned to robbing banks and gas stations at this time, and even committed his first murder. Later, two police officers in Oklahoma were also murdered as they were walking up to Bonnie and Clyde's car.They often ended up robbing grocery stores, gas stations, and small banks because they believed that they would be lightly guarded.
