As time has passed, humans have developed many ways to use technology in their everyday life. We use it for communication, work, to learn new things, but a major use for it is shopping. As we continue to experiment with technology in the shopping world we see that it has taken a major toll on whether or not Brick-and-Mortar stores are needed.With that being said after many hours of research the answer is no, I do not agree that Brick-and-Mortar stores are needed. It makes the buyer nervous not knowing if it is actually like the picture they are seeing or even a scam as well. In the article “Brick-and-Mortar Stores down but not out, Retailers say”, by Marian Accardi , She explains that that Everett Osborne, the owner of Osborne’s Jewelers stores in Athens and Huntsville “Believes there always will be a need for Brick-and-mortar stores, and consumers still want to be able to see and feel the merchandise for themselves.(Accardi)”. Well actually most companies can’t keep up with themselves. In the article, “New Breed of retailers offsets store closing”, by Hadley Malcom of USA Today, explains that in today’s world there are way too many chain stores. Many stores such as Walmart, Sears, J.C. Penney and more have over 1,000 stores. “some retail constants say more than 1,000 stores in the U.S. is too many for any chain. J.C. Penney has over 1,020 stores; Walmart, as the largest retailer in the country, has more than 4,600, Sears has about 1,700 and Kmart stores”(Malcom). That is way too many stores for any consumer to upkeep. Instead of making the things people in today’s society actually need we use it for all these company's that just keep closing because they have so “many stores and can no longer make them Profitable”(Malcom).
