I do think this is still relevant to teenagers today because a lot of teens today are like Holden. They are like holden because a lot of teens don’t want to grow up and go into the real world because they are afraid and they are not ready for what’s to come and Holden is just like that throughout the story he is afraid and worried for what’s to come.
“The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.” The Catcher in the Rye is a novel written by J. D. He describes that the ducks symbolize the struggle of him not wanting to change and growing up. And that he also wants thing to stay the same. But the ducks prove that one must get used to any environment and that everyone has to change in order to keep living. But also i think that they also symbolize hope for people because even though they leave in the winter they always tend to reappear. This represents my thesis well because teenagers today tend to struggle a lot with not wanting anything to change and they don’t want to grow up. They want everything to stay the same
