Columbus has portrayed many personalities to get what he wanted, but towards the end more of his true personality was seen. Throughout history, people believed that since Christopher Columbus explored and “discovered” the New World that he is a hero, but what he did after he found the land makes him not a hero but a villain, the foe. In the beginning, Christopher columbus strived to become a great explorer from a young age. Christopher Columbus’ father traveled a lot on boats and that it is how Columbus’ interest in sea exploration began. Columbus tried to get to Asia by sailing west but instead of landing in India, they landed on what is now the Bahamas. When Christopher landed in the Bahamas he truly believed that he had landed in Asia and he had to prove to the Queen and King that that’s where he had landed, so he brought lots of spices and new things back to Spain. Columbus became in charge of new voyagers that were coming to the new world, but when he got there the settlement he built befor was destroyed and that was when his true personality/character came out.
