George is a lonely man even with Lennie with him. In the first chapter George even proves this by saying “I got you! You can 't keep a job and you lose me every job I get!” (Steinbeck 12).The quote here shows how Lennie holds back George. Because of this George is a very lonely man because he does not have any body normal to hang out with. And if he does find someone Lennie just ruins it. Also George even goes on to state that he could live very easily without Lennie. George states ”God a mighty if I was alone I could live so easy. I could go get a job and work no trouble”(Steinbeck 12). George is lonely being with Lennie because all Lennie ever does is make things hard for him. And keeps him moving around so he can never get settled and make great friends. As the readers can see many characters in ”Of Mice And Men” are very lonely. The three examples of this loneliness are Crooks, George, and Curley 's wife. Crooks is very lonely because he is black and nobody likes him. Curley 's wife is lonely because no one will talk to her because they don 't want Curley to get mad at them. George is lonely because Lennie ruins any chances George has to make a good friend. Loneliness is a big problem in the world today. We all should do our part in helping those who are lonely so they will not turn out like Crooks,
