Dave Thomas Dave Thomas is the founder of Wendy’s fast food chain. The most popular Hamburger restaurant in the entire world. He was born Rex David Thomas on July 2, 1932, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dave moved quite a lot as a child and when he was 15, he dropped out of high school to work full-time in the restaurant. Thomas, who considered ending his schooling the greatest mistake of his life, did not graduate from high school until 1993, when he obtained a GED. Additionally, he became an education advocate and founded the Dave Thomas Education Center in Florida which offers GED classes to young adults. Dave Thomas often said, “Take care of your business, and your business will take care of you.” In addition, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2003. Sadly, Thomas died at the age of 69 on January 8, 2002, as a result of a tumor in the liver. …show more content…

In Fact, He was adopted as an infant by a traveling construction worker and his wife. He held many, many, jobs in the food industry, starting out as a busboy and working his way up to the top of the chain. When Thomas was still a preteen he and his family moved down to Fort Maine, Indiana. He always remembered how tough it was to be an adopted kid, and founded the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to help both adopted children and the families be happy together.
Dave Thomas had so many amazing accomplishments in life. He was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1999. However, He created one of the most popular fast food chains in America and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor in 2003. Wendy’s quickly began to grow bigger and within less than a decade grew into a franchise of over 1,000 stores.With his style and relaxed pitch for his restaurants, he became a household
