The bias present due to race and because of that the injustice for Emmett Till. This trial is important because it wasn’t about the murder of Emmett Till, it was about the two sides of race between both parties when it shouldn’t have been like this. After Emmett Till wolf whistled at Roy Bryant’s wife Carolyn, Bryant and friends went to Moses Wright house. There they forced Till out of bed and took him out of house and put him in a blue pickup truck. The party then drove Emmett Till to the Tallahatchie River then brutal abused and murdered him before they purposely sunk him in the river. The bias of Emmett Till’s trial and the injustice outcome was horrible and completely unfair.

The dismissal of the jury before the testimony of Carolyn Bryant is one example of how it wasn’t relevant. In MT55, the Judge states, ““It is not immediately relevant to this case and may prejudice the jury’s deliberations.”” (Crowe 184). This quote states that the incident between Mrs. Bryant and Till had no actual relevance to the murder of Emmett Till. In MT55, a spectator blurts, ““No wonder that nigger ended up in the river. I hope they made him pay good before they tossed him in.”” (Crowe 184). This quote comes from a man in the courtroom after hearing what Till allegedly said to Mrs. Bryant. If the spectators got this rallied up already, imagine how the jury would have thought and how more towards the defendant’s side they would be. The jury not hearing Mrs. Bryant’s testimony was ultimately a positive towards the defense. The jury would have believed what Bryant said and may have no more guilt and doubt in picking Bryant’s
