Fred Astaire was born on May 10, in 1899. He was most commonly known for his dancing, singing, choreography, acting, music writing, and him being a reporter on television. His career lasted around 76 amazing years, in which he was able to make 31 musical films. He was also able to make many winning yet, amazing T.V. programs while also recording many records. Fred Astaire was also named the 5th “Greatest Male Star of Old Hollywood”. Fred Astaire is most famous for his amazing dancing and his ability to keep good rhythm. He did many duets with Ginger Rogers who was also known for her amazing dancing ability. The two gained publicity instantaneously and starred together in several musicals. He later sadly died on June 22, in 1987.

Soon, the two began to drift apart after two commercial failures. Ginger Rogers soon began to film more comedies and dramas. Ginger Rogers was taken quite well by her audience and many critics. This led her to be one of the most famous actresses in the late 1940s. One of her most famous performances in “Kitty Foyle”, which was made in 1940, was able to let her to win “The Academy Award for Best Actress”. Ginger Rogers was able to remain a big success all the way through the 1940s and was recognized as one of Hollywood’s most high paid actress. As the decade was almost up, she peeked to her highest point yet of her whole career. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were finally able to reunite once again for a short film in 1949. Later a not so successful time throughout the 1950s, Ginger Rogers was finally able to make it back once again into Broadway, in the year of 1965, where she was given the lead role in “Hello Dolly!”. For Ginger Rogers, there were more lead roles to come from Broadway. One of the most famous was “Babes in Arms” which she debuted in 1985. She was also able to make many lead roles in Television until the year 1987. In the year of 1992, Ginger Rogers was acknowledged at the “Kennedy Center Honors” In the year of 1992.
