I disagree with her claim because I believe social media is not the only thing kids are on or using. We still interact with our friends offline and even more so now that we can communicate to each other and plan things through social media. Many adults have social media accounts, and so do children. Teenagers and children all over the country have apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook.
When children use social media it causes controversy. Parents have mixed feelings on letting their children have social media accounts because it could either be used correctly or not. Children should not be allowed to have Social media accounts because social media has very mature content and it only persuades children to think wrong things are right and young children under 13 are not ready to see that. There may be some reasons why social media is good for kids, but all and all social media is dangerous to the well-being and education of minors. To start with, social media is dangerous to kids that are online because people can be anonymous, predators, and/or cyberbullies. Also, masking one 's identity on the internet make someone more likely to be a cyberbully (SIRS 1). Masking one’s identity can be a serious problem.

Based on the Merriam-Webster, social media are forms of electronic communication (as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos). That being said, the internet could be a very dangerous thing for children to discover. The internet has many uses and can teach us many great things but letting children use it can lead to bad things, such as changes in attitude, thought process and general health conditions.
