Research in Criminal justice provides professionals with studies that will help discover ways to function more efficiently. Law enforcement officers use data to better their assistance in the field and in the courts. Research can provide critical evidence in court, which may lead to non-guilty verses a guilty verdict. That’s why applicants must understand research and conducts their own personal research in order to make the best career minded decision when deciding to a public figure in the justice field. Careers in the criminal justice field are vital to the community because they can control the outcome of other people’s livelihood, freedom and safety. The slightest mistake can turn a small problem into a catastrophic disaster. For example a judicial officer must have extensive understanding of city, state and federal laws to make fair rulings. If the judicial officer does not understands the terminology he or she cannot do the job correctly. Some professions in this field require an exact specialized expert such as a crime scene investigator. If they make one minor mistake it could mean the loss of critical evidence.
