That was the first crime he had ever committed. Fifteen years later on July 9, 1991 he kidnapped 18 year old Leeds sex- worker, Julie Dart. This was just a random act of Sams’. He had never done something like this before and there were no signs of any specific reasoning at the time. A few short days later her murdered Julie Dart.
The fourth killing was on August 19. The victim was 75 year old Ida Irga. Ida’s clothing was ripped showing her body. Just a day later Jane Sullivan was found lying dead from being strangled. Albert Desalvo’s next victim was Sophie Clark, she was young and African–American unlike the others.
Martin Bryant also known as the Port Arthur mass killer, was born on the 7 th of May 1967 in Tasmania, Australia. He was the first-born child to Carleen and Maurice Bryant. When he was a young child his mother recalled him being “quite different and annoying compared to other children, he also used to break his toys”.
Andrei Chikatilo was a true incarnation of evil. He was a serial murderer and rapist who killed about 56 people and raped 254 people in 12 years through strangulation and stabbing by knife. The most gruesome characteristics of his crimes include necrophilia, cannibalism, mutilation, and evisceration. Evisceration is when the internal organs of the abdominal cavity are removed. He began his murder spree in 1978 and was caught in 1990.
The next serial killer is Andrei Chikatilo, he is a soviet who murder fifty young people around 1971. He was a school teacher until his first victim disappeared. There was an eyewitness who saw the victim leave with Chikatilo, but he wife gave him an alibi. Another man who was accused with rape took the fall for the murder. With the cops still watching him it took Chikatilo three years to decide to kill again.
Toronto - In 1885 at the University of Toronto, two rival stonemasons, Ivan Reznikoff and Paul Diabolos, confronted each other, which resulted in one of them, Reznikoff, being murdered. A serial killer is defined as “an individual who kills more than three people in succession without a cooling off period”. From the beginning of recorded history to the present day, humankind has seen its share of serial killers from Giles De Rais to Jack the Ripper, murder is not a new concept. However in 2006 a new name was added to the ongoing list of serial killers, Robert Pickton, aged 58, plead not guilty to 27 charges of first degree murder. Andrei Chikatilo: The Russian Ripper Andrei Chikatilo, also known as the Russian Ripper who went on a twelve year killing spree, was born in the village of Yablochnoye, U.S.S.R on the 16th of October, 1936. During this time in the Soviet Union, life was hard for the citizens who were struggling to acquire the essentials required for survival which led some residents to eventually turn to cannibalism. The compounded struggles of trying to survive with the aftermath of world war two would eventually have an impact on how Chikatilo carried out his brutal attacks (Jenkins, 2015). Although he experienced a rough upbringing, Chikatilo was highly educated, earning degrees in literature and engineering from Rostov University.
The Tool Box Killers There is not a known reason as to why serial killers do what they do. In a society of functioning people why are there individuals who go out and kill others almost as a hobby?
