The Great Gatsby is a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man named Nick narrating The Jazz Age in New York. It tells the story of self-made millionaire Jay Gatsby and his pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman who he has been in love with for years. Jay Gatsby is a very wealthy man who is known for throwing extravagant parties. The most favorable character in The Great Gatsby is Jay Gatsby. This is Because he is a very wealthy self-made man unlike others who come from wealth, he’s generous and he has undying hope.

In Gatsby’s Mansion back in the 1920’s he was known for throwing famous and lavish parties: “Why, My God! They used to go there by the hundreds'' (Fitzgerald 175). This is said by the Owled Eyed Man who used to live in Gatsby’s mansion so he was very familiar with his possessions including his library. Visitors admire his Rolls-Royce, beach, pool, crates of fresh oranges, buffet tents in the grounds filled to the brim with food, and live orchestra performing under the stars.
