John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) was born on May 29 1917 in Brooklyn Massachusetts. JFK is a game changer because he wanted to save people’s lives by abolishing the federal death penalty. He also prohibited racial discrimination and laid the groundwork for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. JFK was the 35th president of the United States. He served in both the House of Representatives and the Senate before becoming the 35th president.
JFK was a unique president in various regards. As 35th president he was the first Catholic and youngest president. Even though he had won the election which gives him a sense of ethos, he had won by the closest margin in history, so for those reasons he had to prove himself a little more than everyone else. This inaugural address marked the start of his tenure as president which was unfortunately cut short to less than the 1000 days he mentions in his speech. This time period was incredibly important because America was in a cold war abroad and a civil rights movement at home.

Kennedy accomplished many victories in his time as president. Some of these accomplishments include working toward better international relationships through the Alliance for progress, working towards equality in law, and working to defuse the Cold War. One impact from Kennedy's presidency was the improved relationship with Latin America. He came into the presidency when relations were not good: "US relations with Latin America had been deteriorating steadily in the decade before JFK entered the White House."

He was part of the Kennedy family, which is well known. RFK also impacted the civil rights movement. Rober F. Kennedy’s life was important because he was smart and accomplished many things in his early years, was part of a political family, so he was involved and always wanted to help other people.

He wrote letters and sent telegrams to Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon about equality and the wait for it for his people. He empowered people to stand up against racism and fight for what they deserve. MLK Jr. is the most critical figure in the Civil Rights movement. He did a lot for African Americans. To begin with, MLK shows that violence is never the answer and he peacefully approached some of the biggest problems. He showed this because if people can peacefully do things then there won't be as much violence.

He spoke out against racial discrimination and delivered the “I Have a Dream…” speech to end, or at least try, to put a stop to segregation. Though he never got to fulfill his “dream” of seeing our nation become free of racism (because he was shot on April 4, 1968), he does still have an impact on us today. Here’s why.
