Sadly, four very special little girls never got to hear it. The assassination of the four innocent little girls, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Carol Denise McNair during the bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama was unjust because they were innocent, the main causes for the assassination were racial and political; however, in those days some people thought certain murder was acceptable, therefore making it just. The assassination of Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Denise Carol McNair was very unjust, because they were innocent, unoffending, and did not deserve to die that way. Addie, Cynthia, Carole, were only fourteen years old, and Denise was only eleven.
In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, is about a town full of racism, hatred, and stubbornness, with a case about a black man allegedly raping a white girl through the eyes of a little girl named Scout, with the adventures she has with her brother Jem and her friend Dill. Lee uses an outstanding amount of characters to persuade this but some distinctive characters that she uses is Aunt Alexandra and the Cunningham’s. Lee also uses the Ewells and Tom Robinson to persuade her meaning. In chapter twenty-three Scout asks Aunt Alexandra if she can play with Walter Cunningham but Aunt Alexandra declines the request and does not give Scout permission to play with Walter. She explains why plus starts to judge Walter.

Racism was causing people to think badly of others that were different from them. She experienced segregation that divided people. She also showed us that we can overcome these things by including a character like Atticus.
The novel “To Kill A Mockingbird” was written in 1960 by Harper Lee in the point of view of a young innocent girl named Scout. Throughout the story Boo radley is looked at as a monster that hides in his house and scares children. Scout, the main protagonist of to kill a mockingbird, evolved from being innocent and oblivious to the racial injustices that were prevalent in the town of which she lived. Throughout the course of the novel racial injustice was a very large theme, although scout herself might have been completely oblivious to it. A good example was when the gang led by Mr. Cunningham was going to lynch Tom Robinson, for the rape of Mayella Ewell, without due process of the law for the simple reason of his complexion.

Bias and Prejudice in To Kill A Mockingbird Spending their childhood growing up in a small town in Alabama, Jem and Scout come to know the views of those around them. Many folks in Maycomb, Alabama have very strong views on those of different race and social class. The reader can see the prejudice against different races, the bias that was shown to those of a lower social class, and the prejudice towards the outcasts of Maycomb. Lee does an excellent job of portraying the loss and courage of the characters in the novel and she also shows the reader different themes throughout.
To Kill A Mockingbird portrays many types of prejudice such as sexism, lifestyle and racism. Sexism is represented through respect and roles of genders. Women were considered weak, they were expected to be elegant and ladylike. It was expected that women stay home and care for the house and children. Jem would often tease Scout for being a girl.

When Scout and Jem hear this they are completely astonished by the fact that the white race is looked down upon by other races.
