In the19th century he was seen as a hero because he made people think he was putting his family first and the police were doing the wrong thing and now days people look back and think he was a villain because of the stealing, killing and other bad acts he did. Ned Nelly was a low quality man who still splits the question around the world is he a hero or villain? Ned had a scratchy short life. The people living in his time saw him more as a villain than now days were the world is split fifty-fifty. A month later the gang committed a string of armed robberies at banks in rural towns. During one of the armed robberies Ned wrote a letter of his side of the story and his involvement with the police. In 1879 Ned and his gang created their famous steel armour, brought from the proceeds of the bank robberies. June 1880 after he tried to derail a police train he was captured in Victoria which coursed a shootout, he was seriously wounded and the rest of the gang was killed.11 November 1880 Ned Kelly was hanged at Old Melbourne Gaol and buried in a mass grave there.
