In the Epic poem,The Odyssey, Odysseus is portrayed as a great leader and hero. In the poem Odysseus is a brave and noble leader who fears nothing. He also is very intelligent, who knows how to get out of tough situations without hesitation. Odysseus, “The Great Sacker of Cities,” is a hero because he... because why? Odysseus demonstrates intelligence throughout.
One of the reasons those people might say that is because Odysseus has a hero’s key traits: he was loyal, compassionate, and cunning. Odysseus was loyal to his family by trying his best to get home and succeeding. Compassion was shown by Odysseus when he was patient while plotting against the Trojans. Last but not least Odysseus was cunning when he defeated the Cyclops in the cave whilst escaping.
Odysseus was a hero for fighting and ending the Trojan war. Odysseus was a hero for risking his life to fighting in the war and was a hero for saving his men and everyone back home. Odysseus was a hero for caring about people and protecting them. Odysseus was special because he was brave and risked his life for people. Odysseus was special for being very smart and coming up with good ideas.
If I could choose to be any mythological character in the complete Trojan myth, I would be Odysseus because he is wise, cunning, and clever. In the book Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Edith says, “Odysseus, who was one of the shrewdest and most sensible men in Greece, did not want to leave his house and family to embark on a romantic adventure overseas for the sake of a faithless woman” (251). This quote shows Odysseus’s wisdom and tells everyone that Odysseus was not willing to participate in a war because of an unfaithful woman who was taken away from her husband.
The Odyssey, Trojan War hero Odysseus exhibits perseverance in the ten years of war and leads his men on the long journey home. Odysseus has to endure the frustrations of the war and the negligence that the gods show to him in his most desperate times. The pain he goes through exhibits his love for the special ones in his life, and it gives him the strength to make it home. Odysseus is challenged during the ten year war, but he will not give up, which proves how he is a true hero. The hero shows how he is a true hero through his actions and not his words.
In part one of Homer’s Odyssey, Odysseus uses his epic hero qualities to help him out on his quest to get back home to Ithaca. He’s shows superb intelligence when fighting the cyclopes in “Book 9.” That’s a quality of superhuman intelligence that Odysseus possessed all throughout his entire journey. When he and his men get into a shipwreck at the island where Poseidon's son lived, he tries to help out getting his men to safety. He helps them by forming a plan. Despite having many of his men eaten by Poseidon's son, the cyclops, he tries to help all of them out.

In the Tragedy of Hamlet, Shakespeare depicts a series of events of a son trying to avenge his father. He pretends insanity, accidentally murders, and drives the love of his life to commit suicide. Although Hamlet was the one that performed these horrible acts, it is all due to the initial actions of Claudius. Claudius is the root of all the problems in Hamlet when he murdered King Hamlet before the drama even begins. I believe that Claudius’ decision to kill King Hamlet, his plan with Laertes, and both of his attempts to kill Hamlet, all set up a chain of events that resulted in the death of far too many people.
