Otto Frank World War II was a historic event that the whole world got involved in. Otto Frank was born on May 12th 1889, in a German Empire. Otto was born into a Jewish family and was the second oldest in his family of six. He went to college from 1908-1909 and studied economics. Before the war Otto was a husband and father that fought in WWI, during the war him and his family had to evacuate to safety, after the war he was the only known survivor of his family. Before the war, Otto Frank was a husband and father, he had also served in the Imperial German Army. In August 1915 he served in an artillery unit on the Western Front where most of the soldiers there were mathematicians and surveyors. Otto Frank made the safe and brave decision to evacuate his family to the safer western nations of Europe. In 1938 and 1941 Otto tried to get visas for him and his family to evacuate to the United States or Cuba, he only got a single visa for himself but it got cancelled when Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy declared war on the United States. In 1942 on July 6th at the age of 53 Otto took his family into hiding, they hid in the upper rear rooms of his of the Opekta grounds on the Prinsengracht. As the time went by him and his family were joined by many other families hoping to hide from the war. They were able to stay in hiding for two years, but got found when an anonymous informant betrayed them. After they got found they were sent two many different places but finally got settled at Auschwitz. In september at the Auschwitz concentration camp Otto Frank was separated from his wife and two daughters forever. When Otto finally got liberated by the Soviet troops he fled to the Netherlands to try and look for his family but by the end of 1945 he knew he was the only member of his family that was still
