Romeo Santos’s Spanish Music Romeo Santos was born on July 21, 1981, in New York City. He was from the Bronx, and had a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. He started the beginning of his music career by singing in his local church at the age of 12. While singing during church he started to develop an unbreakable passion for Bachata music, long before the music type became popular when he was 15 years old. In his teenage years he founded, a solo group at the time, called Aventura. After he founded the group he was able to get some of his friends to join the band and start making music. In May he released his first hit single called, “You.” After a while the song made it to number one on the Latin Songs billboard charts. His other hit single called, “Promise,” was with Usher and that song also made it to the top five songs on the billboard charts. The song ranking made it to number two on the billboards. Santos scheduled a concert at Madison Square Garden, which was sold out three nights in a row. After the concert, a few weeks later, he released CD’s with the songs on it. The concerts he held made history for Latin Music by becoming the first Latin artist to debut at the stadium. After some time had passed he released his sophomore album on February 25, 2014. The album included artists like Nicki Minaj, Kevin Hart and Usher. He was an amazing artist who started at a very young age, and became a great singer who has had many number one songs. He started to learn about different types of genre when he was young, coming from a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother, he had plenty of types of music growing up in the Bronx. Romeo Santos has been a hit around the world, having number one songs for three to four years, he has been a major influence for teens around the world. Romeo Santos is taking a break from his music career, by starring in a new movie coming out called “Furious Seven.” Romeo Santos will have a role in the movie adaptation of the "Angry Birds" videogame, expected to reach theaters in July 2016, according to the artist's agent. This would be the second film appearance for the "Bachata King," after his role as Cristian Marambio in "Furious 7," set to debut in April 2015. Today Romeo owns the stage as well as the “skin he is in.” His confidence, humor and intimate connection with his fans are what keeps drawing them back to him. Worth Aventura and as a solo act, Romeo Santos has sold out Madison Garden eight times to date as well as most of the world’s most famous arenas in his record breaking sold out tours.
