Why Is Superfreakonomics Important

Superfreakonomics is a unique economics book that tackles a diverse range of topics written by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner. The book is based solely on facts, and seldom, if not, never deviates to personal opinions. Due to the themes mentioned in this book, it is recommended for High School students who are mature and would like to further their learning in the area of economics with an engrossing book. Superfreakonomics is an interesting book to read. One of the factors that aids the book with its natural interesting personality is its unique topics in chapters. For example, in chapter one it mentions how some people are successful or unsuccessful as entrepreneurs under prostitution. Readers may like the book due to such a taboo

For example, all of the numbers put in the book for percentages may be an unemployable part. Also, some of the topics were a little uninteresting. For example, chapter three and five. These topics could have been potentially good, but the writing during those parts were a little bland to read. For instance, here is an excerpt from Superfreakonomics where the authors claim that if people are really altruistic, they they should be able to rely on altruism to solve many problems: “But over time, transplantation became a victim of its own success. The normal supply of cadavers couldn’t keep up with the demand for organs.” Chapter three talks about altruism and apathy. This could have been a good one, however some of the are hard to read due to how there are not any opinions on the subject. It also shocks the readers due to the stories told of how people could be so altruistic. However, at the same time, it helps the readers to be aware of their behaviors with the facts and truth. Chapter five The readers may end up reading without understanding what they just read. However, the topics for chapters are still for the most part easily readable due to how the authors write the
