Burmese pythons are a serious problem in the Florida Everglades. These dangerous snakes are constantly influencing the Everglades very negatively. The Burmese python is changing the Everglades by impacting local animals, people, and the ecosystem.
The Burmese pythons are impacting local animals by eating large amounts and possibly leading them to extinction. The author of the newspaper article "Florida's Python hunt" States that "with no natural predators, these eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of opossums, raccoons, and bobcats, as well as many bird species." This indicates that because these pythons have no animals that eat them, they eat a lot of small animals. There are more pythons in the Everglades coming every day. People seem to have come up with a solution against these pythons. "...The challenge is to kill and hunt Burmese pythons..." This illustrates that people are willing to take responsibility for their actions. The only question is, is challenging people to come hunt Burmese pythons the right way to get rid of the Burmese python? The blog "Burmese python- The Ecosystem Challenge" thinks that "we must do a better job educating people about the effect their careless actions have on our ecosystem here in Florida and around the world." If more people would actually get informed about the Burmese python, everybody would know about the Burmese pythons: for example how big they grow and what they eat.
