The movie didn’t feel as sad to me. My opinion on the book is that it could’ve been better. I think it would be improved if it was longer. There wasn’t very much detail and the ending wasn’t good.

What I liked I call of the will was on chapters 1-5 because of all the constant action and excitement. 1 of my favorites is when Buck and Spitz fight to the death. Also when Buck get legs of steel and thick pelt. There was not really anything I didn’t like exWcept for when buck was abused. With all of it combined I loved call of the wild.
I loved perault put curly down because she was hardly half dead and he knew that she would probably die anyway. I hated how spitz was like laughing at curly for being nice and then getting killed. what i really did not like was how spitz kept getting in the way of buck. but i loved buck for killing spitz. the conflict in this chapter was that the dogs were playing to kill.
The reason I really didn’t like this chapter because Seth gets beat up real bad in this chapter: “Coarsen crushed his knees into Seth’s chest.” (70) And another example of bullying is when Coarsen shouted, ‘One, Two, Three!’ he shouted and Seth was dragged through the grass and into the weeds of the tree patch.” (71) There was definitely a lot of graphic language in this chapter a lot of f-bombs and a-holes being said throughout the chapter.
As far as the movie goes it is very well done by paying homage to Krakauer’s Into the Wild. However because the movie is very linear in story telling as well as watered down characterization of Chris McCandless, the movie a watered down version of a story told with a much more interesting characterization and plot narrative. Call of the Wild presented Buck’s static nature when he resorted to his wild and king-like attitude. Also, Call of the Wild showed poor responsibility. Countless times throughout the book Buck had to be put in his place when he opposed the leadership of Perrault or Francois. Intruder in the dust, on the other hand, shows civil responsibility. Lucas fished Chick from his doom in the frozen creek, and Chick showed responsibility when he proved Lucas free from charge.
He had read Jack London’s “The Call of the Wild” and was so fascinated by what he had read. In the book Jon Krakauer claims that Christopher sometimes forgot the big picture. Krakauer states, “He was so enthralled by these tales he seemed to forget they were works of fiction” (Jon Krakauer Chapter 5). The author explains christophers thoughts on the book he had once read by Jack London. McCandless overlooked the harsh realities of the brutal Alaskan wilderness.
I hated it because it was tragic and made me cry. I loved it because it showed so much about the characters, where they stand, and it gave depth and meaning to the book. This was the excitement the book was missing. I wish the book had more ominous details like this portion
Very interesting read even if you believe you know something about the Oregon Trail. Buck 's descriptions of both his trip and the events during the Great Migration really bring crossing the trail to life. After finishing the book, you seriously feel like spending a few days with Buck and his brother traveling along in a covered wagon. I would have liked a few more maps to help indicate where they were during some of the scarier moments of the
I enjoyed the movie better than the book. It included just the right amount of action scenes, description words, and details from the story. The story was amazing but I like seeing things more than reading them. I usually like the movies better than the book.

From domesticated and tamed to wild and primitive, the transformation of Buck from beginning to end is a result of nature and nurture combined. Nature, his genetic makeup, proves to be the most dominant in his development of becoming a free creature of the wilderness.
