All over the world many revolutions took place throughout the 1700s to the 1900s. This includes the French revolution, the Haitian Revolution, the Russian Revolution, and the Chinese Revolution. All of these revolutions were considered very successful among people, since the countries achieved their main goal. In the French Revolution, more rights were gained in the Third-Estate and they got rid of the monarchy. In the Haitian Revolution they accomplished abolishing slavery and gaining their independence from France. In the Russian Revolution the working class achieved more rights. Lastly in the Chinese Revolution they completed ending the imperial system by the communist taking charge. All these Successful have many reasons in common why …show more content…

For a revolution to be successful one will need a leader that possesses traits like being influential, determined to reach the goals and people that will follow and stand by his rules and actions. A picture called “Chairman Mao Loves Children, China” was made in 1960. This picture shows a leader named Mao surrounded by adults and children that love and support him. This artwork tells us that they trust and respect their leader and will follow his rules. Since they respect Mao, he has and will gain more followers and they will help him and follow his orders. China shows examples of them having a powerful leader in their revolution, this is similar to the French revolution who had a powerful leader that took charge and influenced the people. In document 2, a speech was made in France called “Robespierre’s Speech to the National Convention”. Robespierre says to his peers, “Terror, without which virtue is powerless. Terror is nothing other than justice, prompt, severe, inflexible; it therefore flows from virtue.” This piece of text from the speech tells us that Robespierre used fear and violence to influence the people’s actions and decisions. In this constitution, it described rules that were made for the people of Haitian. One of these rules named, “Of the Inhabits”, says “There cannot exist slaves on this territory, servitude is therein forever abolished. All men are born, live and die free and French.” This constitution rule explains to us that people wanted the slaves to be free and have equal rights to everyone else. The people in the lower classes of Haitian will come together and fight for equality no matter what, because people will always realize that they are treated unfairly. Not only were Haitian people that were in the lower classes done with being treated unfairly, the lower classes of France were too. In document 1 “The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, France'' made in 1789, one of the rights in the declaration states “Men are born and remain free and equal in rights; social distinctions [classes] may be based only upon general usefulness.” This right explains to us that the people in the lower class of France wanted equal rights just like all the classes above them. People saw what was happening and saw that they were being treated unfairly and not like the “richer” people so they all came together and fought for equality.
