The Hunger Games is a suspenseful, exhilarating science-fiction novel written by Suzanne Collins and published by Schoolastic Press in 2008. Since its release, millions of copies have been sold in over twenty-five different languages. The Hunger Games series of books has also been made into multiple successful feature films.
The book is set in Panem (future North America), a nation divided into twelve districts and a Capitol. The Capitol is cruel and has created a televised competition known as The Hunger Games. In this competition, two teenagers from each district are forced to fight-to-the-death in order to maintain peace.
