One that will take these competing ideas and create compromise in order to promote the well-being of citizens. Anti-Federalists stated that “in a republic… interests of the people should be similar. If this be not the case, there will be a constant clashing of opinions” (Brutus). Anti-Federalists believed that interest groups in a large republic made governing impossible. For pluralists, the abundance of interest groups and their competing ideas are important to the American government. “Bargaining between groups and ever-changing group alliances achieve a desirable dispersion of power or at least an acceptable balancing of the various interests in society” (Chapter 9 Interest Groups). This creation of compromise and balance is portrayed through the USA FREEDOM Act of 2015. Interest groups that were for the bill included the Human Rights and Consumer Goods groups.
