The Industrial Revolution played a major, and lasting effect on our modern world. Furthermore, our society has greatly benefited from it in many ways. The Industrial revolution has shaped the way we live today in much more ways than the mind can even imagine, yet it happened so long ago. The revolution started in the United Kingdom, then spreading throughout Western Europe, North America, Japan, and soon the rest of the world. For this same very reason, we now have fuel efficient automobiles, smartphones, inner city subways, and many more things some take for granite. Two of the more fond individuals were Richard Trevithick and Henry Ford. These two lads created inventions that influenced many things that we have in our modern day society still today. Henry Ford was the man who created the assembly line that is still used today. The assembly line is used to make manufacturing products all around the world. It has opened many job fields and it has also made things much easier, cheaper, and way more efficient to make. The assembly line is arguably one of the most important tools that we use today. Richard Trevithick, like Henry Ford also invented something very important to history. He invented the steamboat. Now this isn't something that we use as often as we do an assembly line, but it still had an arguably major significance for the time it was needed and used. In the 1700s to 1800s we didn't have a fast way to travel across water. This steamboat was a new way for people to travel immensely faster over water. During the revolution many factories began to open together to make manufacturing easier. People started to migrate to these locations in search for jobs. Since so many people were constantly in these locations, they started to build houses and even business around the factories. These places became know as cities like we call them today. Many major cities began to form like this. Cities like Chicago, New York, Dallas and many more. These major cities not only unites us as a community but it also opened up many opportunities in job fields that were not previously even a thought of mind. Jobs on the assembly line became popular and also jobs in the surrounding businesses around the city. This is how most of us live today. If it weren't for the industrial growth we would not be living like we do today, and we would most likely be working on
