Why do Kids turn to the Army? The Army has a lot of different branches that they have to offer, which are: Active, Reserve and National Guard. In fact the benefits are quite similar in respect to both reserve and active, it just really depends on what goal orientated person you are. The big differences: being Active you get up to $50,000 in scholarship to go to school if you choose to. Being part of the reserve you get $25,000. Active you get to be stationed in any country we have troops in. Reserve you are stationed in your home state. So really if you are family orientated, being part of the reserve might suit some people that cannot leave home. Another big difference, the army has about 150 different jobs to pick from. If you can't make up your mind then the reserve is more of a support role. So they tailor to you about half or just a little less than half, therefor narrowing down your options.
